Automotive Technician apprentices at Durham College Skills Training Centre.
Canadians are a highly mobile people! Cars, trucks, motorcycles - we not only love them but our society is dependent on them. And one thing that they all have in common - they need to be designed, built, and maintained! The demand in Ontario for automotive mechanics is high, and the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association estimates that the demand for skilled tradespersons in the next 7 years will far exceed the supply created by current apprenticeships.

Some of the trades in this sector are auto service technician, auto body repairer, farm equipment mechanic, marine engine technician (love being by the water?), motorcycle mechanic (need we say more?), truck and coach technician, and truck trailer service technician. When we said there’s no limit to the diversification, we meant it!
